These acrylic disks (diameter 45 mm thickness 4mm) are hand painted with acrylic paint by Tommy May and are paired and riveted with sterling silver by Jessica Jubb.
Tommy May was born in the Great Sandy Desert at a soak called Luturr, near Kurtal, he paints his desert country that he walked as a little boy and returns to today. The markings are the tracks of his family as they walk over jilji (sandhills) and to the jila (living waterholes).
Jessica Jubb has worked in collaboration with Tommy May and Mangkaja Artists Resource Agency in Fitzroy Crossing for the past few years.
